Help for Heroes 2011
Priest Barrow Armistice Oak.
At 11 o’clock on Friday 11th November, two minutes silence was observed at the summit of Priest Barrow in Priston by 20 villagers and friends. This was prior to the planting of a commemorative oak tree dedicated to the charity Help the Heroes.
At 11th second of the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11 month of the 11th year the first spade of earth was shovelled over the roots of the newly newly planted oak by Revd. Christopher Hare, Rector of Timsbury, Camerton, Priston and Dunkerton. He was followed by Jennifer Lawton who was born just after 11 o’clock on 11th November. The rest of the assembled company then in turn shoveled a spade-full of earth over the roots.
