Here's my Personal Size ESV that I recently covered. I do leather work as a hobby (carving, tooling, and stamping) and have access to quite a bit of old leather remnants that I've saved over the years. I had this piece of leather that I saved from an old seat pad. I like the look of it and it had a nice feel to the hand.
Here she is standing tall on her own accord flouting the 3 ribbons.
I should have used a flash, but here you can sorta see how I bound my Bible. I did not actually RE bind it, I simply covered over the existing, pathetic, so called leather binding it already had. Those notches you see are the only way of telling it isn't a full rebind. They allow the leather to cover over the inside liner.
Another look at the notches and a good look at the inside leather.
Corner detail.
Another look at the leather liner.
A look downward at the top. This Bible came with the one black ribbon....I added the other two.
Why oh why didn't I use a flash! The 3 ribbons again.
Here she is lying down after a hard photo session.
A look at a Levenger inspired pen holder I made....it wins no awards, but it works.
Here's what I lug around with me. My note book, journal, Bible, pen holder, and my Palm TX loaded with a ridiculous amount of commentaries, dictionaries, and Bible versions.
Another shot.
