North Maroon Peak

On our 2nd try, Trisha and I climbed N. Maroon Pk., considered by some to be Colorado's most difficult 14er. # 50 for me; #49 for Trisha.

Wilson Peak

We climbed Wilson Peak, about 11 miles SSW of Telluride, via the newly-opened Rock of Ages Trail, which has replaced the old standard route straight up through Silver Pick Basin.

Conundrum Couloir

Two unnamed but ranked peaks in Pueblo Co. No trails, lots of snow, scrub oak, and deadfall. 8176 is actually the second-highest ranked peak in this county; hard to get to, and rarely climbed.

Thunder Butte

Took Molly and Buddy up Thunder Butte (9,836 ft.), the Douglas Co. high point and the highest peak in the Rampart Range, as well as UN 9,440 to the south. Took a close look at unranked Sheep Nose (8,894 ft.), but decided to try it some other day, with a partner, without the dogs.

Little Bear

Trisha and I finished off the 14ers of the Sangres with the hardest one: Little Bear Pk. (14,040 ft.). We drive Kritter 4.5 miles up the Lake Como road, hiked the rest of the way, and camped at Lake Como the night before. The 2.5 mile RT (camp to camp) took us over 8.5 hours. Then we hiked out.

Grandview Rock

This obscure, unranked, peak (9,420 ft.) is located only a half-mile or so south of the Barr Trail. However, there is no trail to its summit. Accordingly, I found a register placed in 2005 with only 11 entries before mine.

Mt. Vigil (10,073 ft.) is an unranked summit (line parent: San Luis Pk. B) SW of Colo. Spgs. I failed to climb it in May of 2006, but this time, with Kevin Baker, Patrick Thornley, and Doug Hatfield, I made it. Class 5 free climb!
