This is the boat I took, and some of my fellow travelers.
The Say Pier. Also lots of dust.
The school on the hill, sees the sun going down.
A nice cozy village tucked away on the river.
Same village, different view. Why couldn't I have gotten posted here!
I took about 100 pictures of rocks and random birds...Most of them turned out not very interesting so here is a sampling.
More rocks.
This guy's job was to tell the driver in the back where to go to dodge the rocks.
Another random village where we stopped for prayer.
They were happy to see us.
View from a hill outside of Kirtachi.
I had to try not to drool on the camera from the sight of so much green.
So pretty.
I wish I had been posted here.
You can actually see part of Kirtachi in this one.
This was from right outside the old Kirtachi hostel. I pine.
Same spot, slightly to the right.
One of the two markets on opposite banks near Kirtachi.
A better shot of the big boats I took. The big one's have motors.
This is the car I took back to Niamey...for 6hours. Sharing the cab with the driver and two large women. One of the white chickens did not survive the journey.
Giant termite mound on the way to Kirtachi. With Kathryn for scale.
