Scotland Skye - Marsco

A great walk up Marsco on Skye. Marsco isn't a massive mountain but wow its steep and hard work to get to, get up and get down. Well worth it though as the views are amazing

Scotland Skye - Greshornish Point

We had half a day spare so we took a walk up to Greshornish point. It was actually fairly hard work for a short route because the coast goes up and down a lot. The views were splendid and we could clearly see the Ascrib Islands in the distance.

Scotland - Caledonian Canal

A walk along the Caledonian Canal built in 1822 so that boats could go from the Irish sea to the North sea. We decided to do this walk because the cloud level was very low and walking in the mountains would be a waiste of time. It turned out to be an interesting if long route. The locks and swing bridges were impressive.

Lake District - Hardknott Roman Fort

Not a walk but a look around the Roman Fort at HardKnott Pass. The fort must have looked very impressive when it was fully built. The views from the fort are amazing and we will plan a walk around there in future.

Lake District - St Sunday Crag and Fairfield from Patterdale

A wonderful walk from Patterdale up to St Sunday Crag and then carrying to to Fairfield. Along the route you will see amazing view of Hellvelyn and Striding Edge across the valley. In the other direction once on or paste Fairfield it is possible to see Grassmere.

Wales - Glyntawe

This is a really great walk around some of the best views in the Black Mountains. It was very windy the day we did it which added to the sense of being outdoors but made a hard walk even harder. Be warned this is not a walk to be taken lightly, a lot of the walk is not following paths and crosses boggy land with no obvious route. Worth it though if you like amazing scenery ;)

Titterstone Clee Hill

This was a walk in Shropshire from CleeHill upto Titterstone Clee Hill, around to Cleeton St Mary and back again. Titterstone Clee Hill is the 3rd heighest hill in Shropshire. It was a very windy day but the views were stunning.

Peaks - Tissington Trail from Hartington

A great shortish walk on a very cold new years day. We started in Hartington and headed east to the Tissington Trail and after a couple of miles headed of to Motte and Baileys an old fort near Pilsbury Castle Hills. We then headed south back towards Hartington where we stopped at a very nice tea shop. A geat walk and only took about 4.30hrs with a 20 minute dinner stop

Grendon Ice House - Warwickshire

I took a look in the old Ice house in Grendon. The Ice house is hidden away in a small wood out of view to the world in general. Its bigger than I expected, about 15ft in diameter and about 20ft high. Its got some old rubbish at its base but otherwise is in very good condition considering where it is. It obviously hasn't been touched for a long time but it must have been built well because the roots of the surrounding wood haven't done any damage so far, just a matter of time though.

Malverns - 14-09-2008

A walk the whole length of the Malvern hills. Just under 16 miles in total and starting from Holybush. The weather was misty to start with but cleared. We watched paraglyders on the top of the hill and looked down on a volkwagen festival.

Peaks - Alport Castle

A walk involving Alport Castles and Bleaklow from Derwent Water. 17.5 Miles in total and damn hard work. It took 11hrs in total including breaks and including various bogs, one of which I went upto my thighs in ! Some stunning views, almost empty of people and highly recommended for a walk off the normal walkers track.

Peaks - Vale of Edale

A clockwise circular walk around the Value of Edale. Started from Edale Station up the Nab across to CrookStone Out Moor, down to Townhead Bridge, up to Lose Hill, across to Mam Tor and then back to the station. It was around 12.3 miles but felt further for some reason.

Persied Meteor Shower - 12-08-2007

A took a trip out at 1.30am to try and see some meteors from the Persied Meteor shower. I probably saw over two dozen in total and the sky was amazing, really clear. I only caught one or two on the camera but its only a cheapish compact so I was happy to take a picture of any of them. I think considering the camera the pictures aren't too bad.

Church Stretton - 26-05-2007

A nice walk around the hills of Church Stretton. The walk started in the train station car park where we headed up Hazler Hill. Then we headed over to the base of Helmeth Hill and onwards upto the three peaks which lead to Willstone Hill. Eventually we headed towards Caer Caradoc Hill and looked over the amazing views where on a clear day you can see the sea and Cadar Idris ! Finally we headed back over the A49 and headed up Long Mynd via The Batch, Haddon Hill, Cald Ridge, Light Spout Hollow and then down again toward Church Stretton.

Wales - Cnicht & Snowdon

A two day walk around Snowdon attempted by me, Rich, Scott and Graham. We stopped at the Snowdon Ranger YHA on the 1st night and then the next morning parkedat Coed Caeddafydd at the botton of Cnicht. We then walked down and over to the disused quarry at Bwlch Cwmorthin which is under Moel-yr-hydd. We then tracked back over the backend of Cnicht and made our way down the valley to the Bryn Gwynant YHA where we stopped for the second night. The second days walking involved a walk which on the beginning of the Watkins path up Snowdon but before the Gladstone Rock we went left and followed the ridge up which joins with the Ryyd-Ddu path. We finally made our way down the Snowdon Ranger path back to the Snowdon Ranger YHA.

Peaks - Upper Dove Hills - 20-01-2007

A walk from Longnor village over and around the peaks of Upper Dove. The walk included an outward journey around the base of Parkhouse Hill, a traverse of Crome Hill (Dragons Back), followed by a walk to the top of High Edge. The walk back included an investigation of Owl Hole and a walk down Dowel Dale. Then past Parkhouse Hill again and a uphill trek over to the top of Wheeldon and a look at Fox Hole Cave. Then finally the walk crossed the valley floor back to Longnor.
