This is the type of truck they used to transport things... and people.
It was carrying building supplies and workers... pulling a cement mixer.
They were buling a building just across from our Guest House.
Auto-rickshaw
trucks would bring in loads of sand and rock and dump them on the edge of the site. Then they would use baskets and carry the sand or rock on top of their heads.
This bike isn't loaded very heavy... only two people.

We drove through a hilly area on our way to one of the villages... apparently the driver thought we were crazy... nobody ever drove through there for no reason.

Many of the villages we went to are much harder (if not impossible) to get to during the rainy season. Here is one place were the water probably will flow over the road.

Haystacks... you should see them carry them on trailers.

Same tracks we saw earlier, but without the train.
So the cement walls are the walls of the drainage ditch which ends just to the right of the edge of the photo... all the waste drains into that puddle... that's their sewer system.
Another tractor! (there were lots of tractors)... Is this one a Ford? Still not green.
They would have statues of important historic and political figures up all over the place... they also had statues of their gods up all over the place.
The More store... India's version of the supermarket.
They had billboards advertising movies and TV shows up all over the place.
And there were ads pasted all over the walls along the road too.

The pumps were just out for everyone to use. It seemed to be the woman's job to go get water.

So I'd been trying to get pictures of the combines the entire trip... Notice the "cab" and "engine compartment" is actually a tractor (I think it's a 5310) and it's finally green!You can also see the feeder housing.
Here you can see the yellow bin and auger. The header is also there, on a trailer thingy behind.
Another shot of the combine... these were snapped as we sat at a toll booth.
Here is a shot of the other side. You can see the elevators and tool box.
There were these pretty flowering plants in the median of the toll road.
And this is how they transprot animals... put them in the back of a big truck and tie them in.
Another interesting load. And yes, almost all the trucks had some veriation of "Please Sound Horn" painted on the back.
