Williamstown Ferry
Six Sophistatarts setout in high spirits and less than perfect weather from Southgate Promenade, Melbourne to Williamstown. Our journey took us along the Yarra River past the Crown Entertainment Complex, Melbourne Aquarium, Yarra's Edge luxurious apartment development and marina, Appleton and Swanston Docks, Coode Island chemical storage facility, under the Westgate Bridge and out into Hobsons Bay via Science Works to Williamstown. The rain persisted on arrival at Gem Pier, but not deterred we wandered through historic Nelson Place in search of coffee! A chance meeting with two hilarious performing seagulls gave us a great photo opportunity. We finally met up with Marg at Sam's Boatshed for a great lunch before returning on the Ferry. Sophistatarts have fun rain or shine, the day was a great success!
