Getting close.
I'm all smiles as we near the base of Trapper. (photo courtesy Wil)
We're almost to the base. We'll be climbing the right ridge... it's a steep one! (photo courtesy Wil)
Looking back the way we'd come, Paulina and Ben are coming up.
Awesome ridge. We'd be traversing up and around the left side of the rock.
To gain the ridge, we'll have to carefully break through the cornice.
Wil finds a weakness in the cornice to get us up.
What lies ahead in the ridge...
At the summit. It's hard to tell, but the summit is actually not much wider than our bodies and only a few meters long, so Heather and I are hunched down nice and low for stability! (photo courtesy Wil)
I'm taking a break with our conquered summit in the background. (photo courtesy Wil)
Back at our gear stash we'd made in the morning to avoid having to climb back up to the hut- which can be seen in the background - we can now head back to the road.
Ben and Paulina starting the long ski across Peyto Lake, which would leave us only half an hour more to the cars.
