Mike, Heather, and Ben skiing across Bow Lake with the Wapta Icefield high up and far away in the distance.
Beyond the lake, St. Nicholas comes into view, left of centre.
Ice climbers midway up Bow Falls.
Once off the lake we make our way up a canyon.
Midway through the canyon, with Vulture Peak in the background.
Once out of the canyon, the edge of the Vulture Glacier towers above us.
Getting close to some big walls...
The Bow Hut sits perched on the wall to the right.
Ken, Kerry, and Blanka coming up the valley below the hut.
After dropping our gear at the hut, Heather, Ben, Will, Jason and I begin our attempt at Mt. Gordon.
Skiers make their way down the col between Mt. Olive and St. Nicholas.
We trudge upwards - from the hut, we'd need to cover 12km and gain 850 meters.
Up on the flats of the Wapta, heading towards Gordon,we'll go just to the right of the rock outcrop, with the summit hidden in behind.
Looking towards Mt. Collie just right of centre.
Jason, but a spec on the huge Wapta, with South Rhondda directly behind him.
Ben and Heather on the final ridge to the summit.
Atop Mt. Gordon, my first ski mountaineering summit!
Skiing off Gordon - you don't want to fall into that well lurking near the rock outcrop!
Making our way past St. Nicholas on the return trip... it looks much different from this side.
