Nice 10 miles hike with Dipu and Santosh to Springer mountain from three forks at forest service road#42. Hand written GPS trail is at : http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=2012542. Started at Appalachian trail till mid way and continued on Benton Mackaye trail to top, while coming back took Mackaye trail. From three forks continued beyond for another a mile to visit long creek waterfalls and came back.

Awesome 4 days cycle ride with Abhijit Rao, Harish Shivram and Shankar shastry. Started from Karwar stayed at Talpona beach; day 2 we stayed at varca beach and day 3 stayed at Arambol. Thanks hurricane Neelam very pleasant 3 days ride with slight drizzle and heavy rains at times. Beaches visited: Karwar, Devbagh, Polem, Galjibag, Talpona, Varca, Benalium, Palaulem, Majorda, Baga, Arambol, Morjim, Panjim, and few unnamed ones in between. All photos are taken from my Galaxy nexus.

Trek to Harishchandragad near Pune with Kaustubh and Priya. At Malchechghat area we took a bus from pune to Alephata, and a lorry to kubhi phata and 7KM walk to Khireshwar village at the base. Trek ended at the village of Pachnai then took a jeep to Rajur and another lorry to Shendi next to Bandadara reservoir.

Long awaited trip to silent valley. Though I am not at all satisfied by the 2Km and 6KM very short treks inside, the forest here is absolutely pristine and amazing. I think its good not to promote much of any of these human interference here to save only 11 tigers survving here.

Fun filled 3 day trip to wayanad in kerala With Mahesha, bhatta, jagga, jitha, bhavana, sirish, keerthana, pari, ramya, maddy, swetha and naveen. Stayed at sultan bathery, and went around visited edakkal caves, Karapuzha dam, chembra peak, neelimalai view point and banasura dam. Loads of food and fun ofcourse. trek with Bangalore ascenders to Huthridurga, is situated about 65 km west of Bengaluru in the state of Karnataka. It is situated off the Kunigal-Magadi state highway (About 7km from the SH no 94). It was built by Kempegowda and is about 500 years old . Ruined fortifications are still visible on the two hillocks surrounding the village. It was seven tiered fort. Its one among the Nine Durgas around Bangalore (Nava Durgas). It has a small temple dedicated to Shiva and Nandi. It was under Tippu sultan's ruling, in 1792 it was captured by Cornwalis.

successful summit on 17th June. Bhagirathi II, is of height 6515m. starting on 4th of June, after 6 days of trekking 5 member climbing team with 1 guide and 2 support staff reached base camp. After numerous load ferries, acclimatization rests we made 2 summit attempts. After 3 other members had to go down because of AMS, me and Kavitha did the successful summit with guide chandra bahadoor and HAP Tej bahadoor on 17th at 4:50PM after almost 12 hours of gruellingly beautiful climb. In next two days we reached Gangothri back.

Initial plan of ours was to trek from Kigga to peak and get down at agumbe. bt since we started very late on saturday and on sunday we lost our way after the peak, returned back to Kigga itself. But no regrets, it was a wonderful place. Sirimane falls was icing on cake :).

An attempt to complete the toughnut enduro race at pune, which involved 150Km cycling, rappeling, rifle shooting, Kayaking and 50KM trekking all in 2 days :). Our team was too exhausted by end of first day had to back out during cyling at Saturday 11PM . Since I did not carry the camera,clicked few from chitra's cam and just scavanged few pictures from Mayank rungta, Mohamad Rafi shaik, Mansi pingle's albums. Nevertheless it was a good attempt.

Another very nice trek around mighty Palani Hills with Chennai Trekking Club. Pretty awesome bunch of folks they were to trek with. I really enjoyed the trail as it was full of boulders, I am pretty sure my bouldering buddies wouldn't have gone beyond 5% of the trail by looking at those awesome boulder problems. Trek started from Palani dam and started going upstream zigzagging boulders across the stream. Reached a campsite after visiting zillions of waterfalls. Next day climbed up to Perumal peak and gotdown.

Amazing trek on frozen Zanskar river near Leh in Jammu and Kashmir. Gang : Mohan, Bhavin, Muntasir, Vani, Satya, Shilpa, Arun, snigdha, Pantha, sandeep, raghu, subbu with manish lakhani as our team leader and Lobsung our brave guide. It was thirteen days trek started from Chilling , we went upto Zangla and started walking down back. mercury dipped beyond -20 degree Celsius few nights, with avg temperature was around -10 degrees in day time. nevertheless awsome trek it was. Yelagiri is another small sleepy hill town with a nice lake and a lot of chai shops, nothing much to see around but what the heck was amazing drive with great buddies. 107_Madhugiri_28Mar10

Quick one day drive and revisit to Madhugiri. Fort was started in Ganga period but due to several reasons it was not completed. Later during Vijayanagar rule, Raja Heera Gowda who was a local feudal completed the fort. After the fall of Vijaynagar Empire, the control of the fort changed hands many times. Hyder Ali, Tippu Sultans, Mysore kings and British had all ruled the fort. Gang: Bhatta,Margo, siris and myslef.
