Just having reached the base of the Twin slide. More of a stream at this point.
And the view behind...
More streamish slide.
Lots of water flowing made for some beautiful cascades.
Allen, on the left.
North River range.
Now becoming more slidish than streamish.
Look up at the many branches on the Twin slide.
Hoffmann and Blue Ridge showing up in the distance.
Allen and the North River range, with Macomb and Sunrise peeking out from behind.
Marcy, Skylight, Allen and Cliff, Redfield, Adams with the Dixes in the distance.
Further up and further in.
Colden shows up on the left.
More slide please!
You should know these by now...
And now the McIntyres get thown into the mix.
Trace the long route in to Allen...
Nearing the top and looking way back down to the base.
Emerging just below the headwall of the Ermine Brook Slide.
Long, gentle grade descending deeper into the wild.
Did I mention the views were good?
In the foreground, Little Santanoni, the next target.
Looking off to the south, toward what I assume is the "Little High Peaks." Can anyone point out specific mountains?
Looking back up toward the headwall.
Chillin on the summit of Little Santanoni.
On the way up Couchsacraga, in the middle of a miserable blowdown thicket, I suddenly got this closeup look at the cliffs on the ear.
From Couchsacraga, looking at Panther.
And now Santanoni.
And glimpses of Little Santanoni.
From Panther, a look at the Sewards.
And a more recent acquaintance, the Sawtooths.
Couchsacraga and the ears.
Little Santanoni below.
Santanoni. Earlier in the day I had been on the ridge running to the small bump on the right. The Ermine Brook Slide takes off just a little on the far side of that bump.
Ridges and mountains fading into the distance.
