The days proceedings started with a sparkling reception and delicious lunch as well as the catwalk display featuring the latest autumn/winter fashions from John Lewis, who along with Brown Shipley sponsored this year's event.

Balloon Launch 2011

Thousands of balloons were released into the sky before Sale Sharks kick off against Northampton Saints at Edgeley Park. The St Ann’s Hospice annual balloon race aims to raise more than £30,000 to continue providing their first class care free of charge.

This garden captures the unique personality of St Ann's Hospice's 40th anniversary. At our core is an overwhelming sense of life that envelops people with positive healing and therapeutic experiences. Embrace is a garden in which to feel secure, think, relax and reflect. Natural, rustic materials and features and an abundance of plant life protect and soothe. The vibrant colours also embody the great sense of life and hope at St Ann’s. The title evokes the idea of a physical, emotional and spiritual embrace.
