This is just cool, no comment needed.
Somewhere around East 4th Street or Mark's Place, East Village.
DelaVega is a cool artist with a nice perspective on life (that's not the man in the door). In his museum (read: ego-shrine) he sells all his art. He also forbids photographs inside, which is a shame, because the place is really interesting.
A selection of the DeLaVeGa pieces, as seen from outside.
Girl with ukulele (?) at some small park on the lower east side (what was its name?)
A guy practicing some kind of martial art with wooden sticks. Maybe Iai-do.
Or Kendo.
Same park. Guy painting (I envy these guys so much).
Still at the same park.
Guess where this is?
I don't know what this girl is doing. Possibly writing a letter to her fiance in Iraq.
This is at the B-Cup: a small cafe in the village which feels like a cute Tel-Avivian place. Surprisingly enough, the owners are Israelis. I had a really nice time there, AND they were surprised when I started talking in Hebrew (yay for Avish, master of disguises!)
The B-Cup from outside.
:)
9 floors of Macy's. And I couldn't find anything I wanted to buy.
This is for a very special lady.
And this is a personal joke, in the sense that I'm the only one who finds it funny.
We went to Central Park on Earth Day. It was hot and sunny and half of Manhattan was there.
Hot and sunny weather has its benefits. And this girl has hers.
If this was an album, it'd be called "High Tide on the Sea of Flesh".
So many nekkid bodies!
Even the turtles needed to cool off.
If I have a regular shotgun, do I have to saw it off myself to get the $100?
YES WE GAY!
Public toilets. Surprisingly, these were the first ones I've seen.
On a random wall.
Steamed dumplings I had with Eyal and Noa at a nice noodle bar after we got lost near China Town.
Eyal had the calamari salad.
Prince-like guy playing in the subway. He was pretty good. I like his attitude. The sign reads "Be Kind it Comes Back I Promise".
Uh oh... something's wrong the the guitar... maybe being kind doesn't come back?
This is how Corporate America steals money from innocent boys -- by making them compete for who brought mommy the best soap for mother's day.
A decent burger - one of the firsts I had in NY. Goat cheese does wonders. I apologize for the focus -- it was dark and I was hungry. The fries, as imagined, were mediocre.
Flowers near NYU (I think)
Yay for flower close-ups!
Same flowers. I'm not tired yet.
A squirrel in Inwood Park, at the north-western corner of part.
Guy feeding the squirrels at Inwood Park.
Cute!
To where it bent in the undergrowth. This one bends to open up to a great view of the Hudson.
I want more parks.
Yum Yum, a Korean restaurant, now in 3 locations for your convenience! Look closely and you'll realize the 3 locations are less than a block away from each other, so basically it's one huge location that pays three times the rent. Clever!
Flowers are always great for shooting. This is a really tiny park somewhere in lower Manhatten.
An exhibition called “Bold As Love” by Adam Parker Smith. Pretty cool.
I love his attention to detail. Like the blood splatters.
This is displayed in a window in the middle of the street, like a store, but there's nowhere to enter and there's no door. Kinda catches you unprepared.
A cool band playing in the subway. Turns out this is an organized thing, it's a program called Music Under New York. Very Tel-Avivian.
Same band. Here we can also see the drummer, which is kinda cute (that's what me girlie says).
Oh wait, no he isn't.
I tried to capture them standing pretty still with everyone else walking around getting blurred. The trumpet guy ruins it, but it's still pretty nice.
Parting shot.
A huge Ramen soup I ate at Sopora, near Adam's place. It was surprisingly not as good as I'd hoped, and definitely surpassed by the one they serve at the Moon in Bugrashov.
Look out! A giant bottle washed up on shore! (at riverside park, which is, surprisingly, on the riverside)
IT'S COMING RIGHT FOR US!!!1
Duck. Pier.
Duck and chick, having just escaped from the set of some stupid sitcom.
Stairway to Urban. I liked how you take a long flight of stairs and go from the green-and-blue of riverside park into the brown-and-gray of urban Manhattan.
Somewhere in upper Manhattan. They teach them to be racist as early as preschool!
