Washington, DC - Aug 5 - 9, 2007

We tagged along on a trip with Skip's best friend (Harold) and his wife (Linda) as they moved their eldest son's belongings to his new apartment in Richmond, Virginia. After the move, we drove on up to College Park, Maryland, where Harold and Linda met us and joined us on a day trip to DC. After the trip to DC, Norine and I headed back for Florida and experienced our second "road incident".

Headed back to Florida - June 11-25, 2007

Visiting Julee & Craig was the last thing on our list before getting back to see our family & friends again in Florida, stopping first to visit Lisa & David in Loganville, Georgia. We drove straight through Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky as nothing on our route was of interest to us. We drove through Tennessee also because we had been there before and we wanted to get to Georgia.

Wisconsin - June 8-10, 2007

After we visited Canada, we drove down Minnesota's coastline and into Wisconsin (our 15th state) to visit Skip's cousin, Julee, and her family at their home on Lake Pokegama in Chetek. Skip and Julee hadn't seen each other in more than 20 years.

Lake Superior & Canada - June 4-7 2007

From Dulth, we continued north along the shore of Lake Superior, following Minnesota state road 61 into Thunder Bay, Ontario. Along the way, we visited 4 of the 8 state parks on that route and got some GREAT nature photos. On the way back south, we spent a couple of days exploring the small coastal city of Grand Marais before we set our sights on our 15th state, Wisconsin.

Duluth, MN - June 1 - 3 2007

After leaving the Minneapolis area, we continued north to Duluth to enjoy Minnesota's famous North Shore and the beatiful scenery along Lake Superior.

Minneapolis, MN - May 30 thru June 1 2007

From Iowa, we headed north to Minnesota. After stopping at the Spam Museum in Austin (laugh if you will, but it was fun!), we drove up to Bloomington (near Minneapolis) so Norine could see the Mall of America. We stayed at the Dakotah Meadows RV Park in a town called Prior Lake, adjacent to the Mystic Lake casino (where Skip won $480!).

Kellogg, Iowa - May 21-28 2007

We accepted an invitation from our new camping friends (Derek & Eileen) to join them at their favorite Iowa state park before we headed north to Minnesota. We spent a week with them there and had some very memorable experiences and a GREAT time!

Iowa - Apr 17 thru May 20 2007

We finally made it to our first workamper job at Adventureland, and we were 8 days early. The trip was long and we were more than ready to settle down in one spot for a few months to have fun and recharge our batteries. The job there didn't work out, though, so we moved to Griff's RV Park for a week before we moved on to Minnesota, the 14th state in our travels.

Kansas & Missouri - Apr 2007

Kansas and Missouri were the last 2 states in our path before making it to Des Moines, Iowa and our workamping job at nearby Adventureland. We made a stop in Olathe, Kansas to visit Skip's brother, Corky, and his family.

Oklahoma City, OK - Apr 2007

On April 10, we headed north on I-35 from Waco toward Oklahoma City to visit the famed National Memorial and Museum. The memorial is dedicated to the 168 victims of the April 19, 2005 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah federal building by Timothy McVeigh.

Waco, TX - Apr 2007

From San Antonio, we stopped in Waco, Texas to visit some Masonic landmarks and to see where the ATF and FBI slaughtered the Branch Dividians in Mount Carmel in 1993. We also paid a cool visit to the Dr Pepper Museum (Dr Pepper was invented here in Waco).

San Antonio, Texas was the next stop on our way north through the Lone Star State. Skip had never been there, Norine used to live there, and we both wanted to see it.

After Galveston & Bay City, we headed for Corpus Christi to visit a fellow Shriner and the Shrine Burn Hospital and to just relax a bit and take in the "Texas Culture"

We headed south along the Texas coast to Galveston, to visit the Shrine Burn Hospital on Galveston Island before heading out to Corpus Christi by way of Bay City, TX

Beaumont, TX

We had our first "road incident" on the way into Texas. We hit a piece of tire scrap on I-10 and it ripped out our sewer hose, shredding it and wrapping it around the inside of our left rear duallies. It also damaged our mup flap, dented the lip of one of our compartment doors, and put a small scratch in the drivers door of our car.

From Georgia, we drove into Mississippi and stayed at a Flying J truck stop in Jackson before driving on across the Mississippi River into Vidalia, LA

On the first out-of-state stop during our second adventure, we stopped to visit a life-long froend of Skip's (Lisa Stephens) and her husband (David) in Loganville, GA. We stayed in Ft Yargo State Park.

Tampa, FL

Due to the passing of a close frriend, we had to "make a mad dash" from Greensboro, NC back to Tampa, FL. We traveled through the night and made record time in arriving back again at the Happy Traveler RV Park in Tampa.

We helped Tri-Am RV Center (the folks we bought our coach from) work the 2007 Tampa RV Supershow. In exchange, they paid for our (very tight) site on the Fairgrounds.
