This is a real picture taken at the Bluff (just modified it a little to film grain texture)
The Bluff, one of the Southern-most points of New Zealand's South Island.
A closer look at the signs and distances listed.
Going up to the lookout point to survey the surrounding southern islands.
But first let's pose for a photo with Aunty Nana.
Phew, its windy up at the lookout point but panaromic view nonetheless.
Can just make out Stewart Island in the distance.
Then off to the seaside town of Riverton.
The beach here is totally composed of pretty pebbles, no sand at all.
Hasif and Hani being trained by their Nani to collect nice-looking pebbles.
Taking a break from pebble-collecting.
Then off we go to the Fiordland region, first stop Manapouri.
Here's a panoramic view from the cafe we stopped at across the road.
And here's a closed up panoramic view of Lake Manapouri.
Here's the outdoor playground at the motel which we will be staying the night at.
Hasif wishing he could go on the helicopter (planes and helis are his favs).
Had time to go for an evening cruise and tour of the glow worm caves.
Hani enjoying the lake breeze on the cruise across Lake Te Anau.
Luckily it is summer so the long daylight hours meant we could still enjoy the views even though it was almost 9pm.
And indeed so many beautiful views, of the hills rising from the lake, to be had.
Taking a photo for Aunty Dadaagainst the pretty background.
Some more pretty views of the many small islands dotting the lake.
Took an open deck boat so could rest and sit while the boat cruised along.
Hasif though much preferred to stand by the rails.
Another pic of Aunty Dada with panoramic view of the background.
On our way to see the glow worms in the pitch black caves.
Flash photography not allowed in the caves so only got this pic of Ayah at the caves' exit point.
A schematic diagram of the caves layout and location.
This is how the glow worm looks like in the larvae stage (but in the dark caves, they can be seen as twinkling lights).
Some info on the glow worms.
Out of the caves and into the stream (or so these two wish!)
The sun's about to set in the background.
Quick family pic before the sandflies start biting.
Beautiful view of the impending dusk.
Nice sunset hues cast onto the mountains in the background.
Another sunset photo taken while waiting for our return cruise.
Ibu also managed to get a quick pic taken.
The last boat for the day has just arrived, if we miss it then have to overnight on the island!
Ibu hurrying Hasif and Hani to board the boat (and chop nice seats :-)
Too cold to sit on the top deck so everyone has to squeeze down below.
