Food Workers Card Class

Council offered a Food Workers Card class to help local PTA units increase the number of volunteers with cards. Working to help be in compliance with Health Department regulations for temporary events.

2010 Holiday Food Drive

Shoreline PTA Council in partnership with the Shoreline Fire Department and Hopelink Shoreline provide food, toys and teen gifts to Shoreline School District families needing holiday and winter break assistance.

Focus Day 2010

Over 40+ Shoreline parents and students joined in the rally on the steps of the State Capitol in Olympia for Education Funding. 800 plus from across Washington joined to let Legislators know that "Cuts Hurt Kids"

Holiday Baskets - 2009

Holiday Baskets - Food, Toys, Teen Gift Drive and distribution. Local PTA Units drove for food, toys and gifts along with the community support of food, gift cards and paper products. 475 families registered for assistance and over 2,000 people were served.

Dessert/Training with Sunny Kobe Cook

Sunny Kobe Cook was the guest speaker at the PTA Council Spring Dessert/Training held at the Shoreline Center on June 8, 2009. A General Meeting which included Golden Hanger Awards, and drawing for Senior Scholarships led right into Sunny's talk. Training for President, Secretary, Treasurer, Legislative Chair, Membership Chair and Family Services followed the meeting.

Mars Hill Youth Group Volunteering at The WORKS

4-6th grade boys and girls from Mars Hill Church sorted and packaged socks, underwear and boxers to help The WORKS get ready for the Back to School Event in August.

Girl Scout Troup 550 At The WORKS

Troup members volunteered their time as part of their community service badge requirements. They openned the just arrived shipment of boxers and counted product drive donations. Their hard work got things ready for volunteers to come and package and seal the boxers.

Recognition Event - Celebrate Excelence 2009

Shoreline PTA Council hosted the annual recognition event to celebrate district Golden Acorn Outstanding Educators and Golden Acorn winners from each local unit. Announced at the event was the Council Golden Acorn winner Sarah-Ann Woodfield, Co-VP Family Services and Council presented the Outstanding Service Award (Washinton State PTA highest honor) to John Mounsey, Andy Denney & Karen Fernandez for their years of work on the Holiday Food, Toy and Teen Gift drives. Outstanding Business of the Year went to James Alan Salon.

Holiday Baskets - Food, Toy, Teen Gifts Distribution

Shoreline PTA Council 6.12 in partnership with the Shoreline Fire Department drive for and distribute Food, Toys and Teen Gifts to Shoreline School District Families in circumstances that make it challenging to provide these for their children over winter break and for the holidays. Local PTA units gathered over $30,000.00 worth of food that was distributed to 320+ families representing over 1,000 children.

The WORKS Clothing Room

The Shoreline PTA Council Family Resource "The WORKS" is 100% volunteer run children's used clothing program. In partnership with the Shoreline School District the program is made possible through the clothing donations and financial support of the local PTA units and the community. Shoreline School District Families needing clothing assistance are given an allotment of clothing for each child for the school year. Families come and "shop" Wednesday evenings throughout the school year. At the beginning of the school year or on their first visit each year a family receives a hygiene pack and 5 pair of new underwear & 5 pair new socks for each child.

Shoe Event sponsored by Shoreline PTA Council Family Resource - The WORKS in partnership with Sole Salvation. Over 750 pairs of gently used children's and adult shoes where made available to Shoreline School District Families in need - free of charge.
