Dominic and Sarah traversing to the base of the couloir from Hope Pass.
Ah, warm sun at last.
The Hopeful Couloir on the n.e. face of Hope. The banshees (spindrift) make a guest appearance up high.
This huge block broke off a cliff band and caused a small avalanche just a few days ago.
Sarah on the low angle apron.
Neighbor Quail.
Dominic takes a turn leading about halfway up.
Sarah enjoying the conditions.
Quail again.
Nearing the top.
A small cornice forming icicles.
Hoot leads the way. The top section was 47 degrees, while the rest of the slope angle was generally low 40's.
Hoot tops out.
Great shot from Hoot of me on the finish.
Looking down from the top.
Nearing the summit of centennial Hope.

On the summit in the gale. The wind really kicked up in the last 10 minutes and forced us to shorten our break. Windiest hike in June for me!
Another look at the cornice.
A short, soft glissade down the east face. This slope was so soft that you couldn't get going much.
Descending the n.e. ridge of Hope.
Nearing the summit of Quail, and "easy" 13er made a lot tougher by the high winds.
Hope from Quail. Our ascent couloir is on the right.
