'The Entertainer' Mount Shasta, CA.
Day One of our 8 day Downhill trip. My partner in crime,Jim, and I meet our guide at the Old Ski Bowl. We are at 7800' here.
Our guide, Redding local Chad, is a dirt jump extraordinaire who rides basically anything with grace and style. We are stoked to ride with this guy
We push or ride our way out to the singletrack descent. It's a workout at altitude with a 45lb bike.
Just around the corner is where the fun begins.
We take a minute to take in the amazing views and some water and oxygen.
The descent from the ski bowl to Bunny Flat is basically like this: rocks and duffy volcanic soil that makes steering almost impossible.
Somehow we rode through that...and that is the beauty of the downhill bike!
After Bunny Flat, we get to an area with some stunts including this drop. Jim handles it with style...business as usual
Actually, that pic was taken several months ago. Today, the landing is not so good as Jim demonstrates. Mommy doesn't work here so it's ride at your own risk!
Here is another stunt in an advanced state of disrepair. This one makes us all crack up!
This Ladder to Drop was even scary to walk across but what a beautiful place! My friend Sandy Ross loves it too.
After the Catwalk and other stunts, you arrive at 'The Bone Collector'. A massive rock garden in the trees. I
After testing your skill in the Bone Collector, the Entertainer rewards you with a long epic descent, smooth and fast with lots of log drops. I wish I had some pics but once you get going in here you just can't stop.
We cross over the road and drop into 'The Wash' formed by a giant mudslide and very unique.
Chad descends the wash pimpin his dirt jumper in some rugged territory.
Here I come...all smiles.
The best part was riding bascially untouched terrain. It is very pure.
If you like rocks, this is the place for you!
The spectacular and rugged beauty of Mt Shasta...my Demo 9 feels at home here.
After the wash, we ride out through some more rocky territory. The Entertainer brings it from beginning to end.
Simply stunning. We have come a long way from the ski bowl.
After descending over 4800' in duffy conditions, we are all in awe... and slightly knackered...but secretly we are already thinking about our next encounter with “The Entertainer”
Those Lemurians were on to something. The Entertainer is a close encounter of the best kind.
