Stacy Nash 2009 Group - Heart Pinkeep kit
Started 9 Feb 09 - Stacy Nash Heart Pinkeep. Cut out template and pin to wrong side of linen.
Trace around template with a pencil.
On front side of linen, satin stitch to leave outline of heart.
Stitch the design on the front side of linen - 9 Feb 09.
10 Feb 09
Pin templates for the extra pieces onto the wool swatches.
Ready to turn this into a heart pinkeep and strawberry emery.
12 Feb 09
Pin both pieces, velvet and linen, facing inwards together.
Stitch around the marked template, leaving a gap to turn inside out when completed. Cut excess fabric around the edges off.
My not so finished pinkeep - 14 Feb 09.
Cut inwards along the outer edge of fabric to the stitched line.
Once turned inside out, stuff your heart with sawdust, or any filling you like (I used normal suffing). Stitch small crosses along the outside of the heart.
Now to the back - place your piece of wool on the back where required and pin it to your heart.
Stacy Nash Heart Pinkeep 2009 Group - finished 15 Feb 09
Showing you the back side of the heart, with a place to put my Kelmscott heart scissors.
Making the Strawberry Emery - have your pieces of wool cut to the template sizes.
The Strawberry taking shape.
I put some emery grains inside my Strawberry.
Pin the top piece of wool to the Strawberry.
Stitch it in place. I also added some very primitive crosses to the back of my Strawberry.
Now I just have to add some cord to the top so I can attach it to some scissors.
Six strands of DMC thread for the cording.
Showing the back of my Emery.
My Emery complete - 6 Mar 09
