FAMILY > 2001 Australia
Photos from my three month trip to Australia. I spent the first few weeks with some great new friends, joined them in flight to Melbourne, where we attended the World Cup of Polo at Werribe Castle. Then, I flew alone to Tropical North Queensland in Townsville. I rented a car and spent the next two months driving the 1000+ miles back south to Sydney.
I started by heading first North to Cairns. While there, I dove the Great Barrier Reef, and hiked and traveled the coastal area. Along the way, I got bored and flew my brother Brice out from Detroit. We partied on Magnetic Island, camped Fraser Island, and chilled oceanfront at Byron Bay. A highlight was our trip to Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo.
After Brice flew back to America, I continued my trip solo to Surfers Paradise and down to MacQuarie and back with the friends in Sydney, saw the Blue Mntns & Kuring-Gai park. Finally, I had a sendoff dinner and was on a flight back to San Diego. Times were good in 2001.
