In the center of the Town of Lake Tahoe, there used to be a large tree in the middle of the road, cars would go around it until disease required it to be removed. This totem was carved from that tree.

This is the monument to the Donner Party (1846-1847) Leaving from Springfield,Ill in April (a later start than planned) The group of 90 were stranded by 22 feet of snow. Where their feet are measures 22 feet. 44 people died.
