Wildfire strikes Orange County on March 11, 2007
Everything was still pretty burned a month after the fire.
A former tree.
Burned cactus patch.
I guess the sign looks tougher this way.
One of the bike trails I wanted to go on.
Unfortunately the upper trails were all closed.
This one was open.
Some of the burned trees were pretty neat.
Tree Warning: The next photo is a bit gross
Poor guy couldn't escape the fire.
Nor could this snail.
But there is some hope.
Some plants are returning.
A new bush grows from the ashes.
Young plant breaks out of the ground.
Lonely new foliage.
I was riding down this path and I thought to myself, "Is that music?" Then I heard it... "Someday you will find me Caught beneath the landslide In a champagne supernova in the sky " ...Get it? ...Oasis? ...No? Okay.
Just more burned stuff.
Some houses were very close to being burned.
Sweet pad on the hill.
Zoomed out.
These houses were really close to the fire.
Burned stuff.
The valley.
Bike! Got a bit dusty but I cleaned it off.
I think my new bar-ends make my bike look like a hammerhead shark.
