The north side of the Bay appears to be a little calmer
Looking North. Supposedly there is a black sand beach here but it's not obvious from these pictures. The crevice in the far cliff may be the spot where the famous Onomea Arch sat until the 1956 earthquake destroyed it. Supposedly King Kamehameha threw his spear to create the large tunnel through the rock.
This may be where the lava tube enters Onomea Bay
