After Zozilla we start decending down here - we are around 30km from Dras

The place is entirely sorrounded by brown hills like these

On the way up to Zero point - we are on Day 4 proceeding towards Batalik and Leh from there on

From Batalik till Leh - we travel on a road almost abutting the Indus

Day 5 - Towards Leh - This Turtle dove seemed to flag off our day5

Day 6 - Biking down on some great Himank roads

End of Day6 - Back at Leh - Day 7 was a rest day

Day 8 - A visit to the Hemis Monastry

Day 9 - Visit to Pangong Tso

An ascetic called Changla baba is known to have lived here

We are at Pangong Tso

The Lake is at a Height of around 14500ft

Motored tracks on the shore...

Tso means Lake and La means road

The Lake stretches to a lenght of almost 130 KMS!

2/3 of the Lake is in China and 1/3 in India

A salt water Lake - Not sure why its salty as all the inflowing stream water is sweet

Its 12:00 noon and chilling inspite of being sunny

In a diffrent hue

The lake surface appears to change colors every 15 to 30 mins

As the sun traverses the horizon, The light that gets reflected from the background hillocks is diffrent - hence the color change

Woa... what a place...

The most treachrous road of all..the last stretch to Tso-Moriri

Tso-Moriri ...And there we are, after more than 60kms of arduous journey @ 20kmph

The evening sun on the background hillock - It was around 6:30 PM here

A lil while later - at 6:50

And this was at around 7:00 pm!!!!

DAY11 - This was the next morning while we were wrapping up the tents

And the tranquility....
