Starting disassembly. I really took photos so I could tell how to re-assemble it.

Anchored in the bench vise, the tab was easy to bend back into shape with gentle pressure from a vise grip.
Repeated squeezing by the tips of the vise grip was sufficient to coerce the chain guide back into shape.
