I noticed this slit in the sidewall of my rear tire on the chain-drive side.
About 2" away, this slit was on the other, non-chain-drive, side of the tire.
Can't tell if something on the road cut the tire, or the sidewalls just gave out.
I have put a few miles on it.
While the wheel was off, I removed the little squares of cardboard and rubber tubing pieces between spokes used as silencers. I replaced them with less-noticeable clear plastic strips.
They are hard to see, yes? They keep the spokes quiet, as the notched and worn sections rub next to each other.
I cleaned off most of this year's crud as long as the bike was upside down.
I really ought to do something about this front fender.
I hate the extra weight penalty imposed by more duct tape (haha).
