I didn't know if I'd get a tree so I asked some street flower vendors if they could find me a poinsettia. I got these two a few days later. I tried to decorate it like a tree but the ornaments didn't show up very well. I'm wearing a kikoy wrap skirt, a traditional skirt in Kenya.
I did end up buying this banana leaf tree from a guy on the street. I just loved it and moved my decorations to it where they show up much better.
I bought this clay nativity from the same guy who sold me the tree.
This is our office tree decorate with a bunch of ornaments my mom sent me from home.
We had a quick gift exchange at our office. I ended up with a gift from Nyamuhu who is standing with me. Don't you love my sparkly John Deere shirt!
My office then went to lunch together for some nyama choma (BBQ meat, usually goat).
As you can see, it was beautiful weather, nice and sunny and we had a picnic outside. A bit different from the weather in Kansas and Minnesota that I'm used to though.
