Construction, not an art installation.
A nifty looking temple. Or maybe a tourist trap. Who knows.
The panels on the outside portray some scenes that I'm sure would be meaningful to me if I were steeped in the Buddhist tradition, but as it is I just think they look cool.
The inside panel is a bunch of birds and bamboo.
Qise (seven color) birds.
Go...don't...fly a kite.
Those are MOUNTAINS back there. MOUNTAINS.
A Tree Grows in Another Tree. Betty Smith's working title.
Some kind of practice for a performance of some kind.
More of that practice.
A hint of what the art park might have looked like once...
Although it looks sort of run-down now.
I liked the graffiti on the bridge, though.
The top of the Art Museum.
And it had nifty trees that looked like chairs.
Cutest little sculpture ever. About six inches tall.
Chess pieces seem to be a thing here.
Not really sure why.
These were little 2 foot blocks around the art museum.
Just those four pieces.
And a little lizard.
These guys looked like CCTV cameras with bodies to me. Reminded me of Cory Doctorow.
CCTV cameras starring in a production of Lord of the Flies...
"Piggy must die!"
She thought the shadows were cool, too.
It was closed when I got there.
But I took a picture of the hours...
...so we can go back eventually.
The Story House itself was a strikingly western looking building.
I was trying to take a picture of the text, but ended up with the flower.
Considering the content of the text, perhaps that's appropriate.
This was outside a soccer stadium.
This was in a park across from the soccer stadium.
Not quite Chicago.
I must have been right next to the airport.
Dragons, bridges, and other long thin things (like pants) all use the same measure word: gen.
This was part of a school, not actually a prop in some elaborate Sinofied version of Alice in Wonderland.
The clouds were lovely.
Ah, but were they worth it?
Aqueduct. Fine, not really.
Anyone know what it says? ERISASASS is my best guess.
I didn't know photos could imitate paintings without serious Photoshop fiddling...
The cocoa is second. The toast can have peanut butter on it.
Katy got the Fragrant fried pork steak rice, and I go the Pickles bean curd pot. It was quite good.
But first I had rose tea and toast with peanut butter. Peanut butter, folks. With a T.
The teacup had a very cute spoon. I thought of Hilary.
And I naturally had to take a picture of the cup reflected in the table. Apparently I have a thing for reflections...
