What do you do when you need to join two canals that connect at (roughly) right angles? Well, this is an approach. Welcome to the Falkirk Wheel
Enter at the bottom. The doors close. The wheel turns and you leave at the top. Easy eh?
Even the visitor centre is interesting.
Half way up.
At the top, leaving for the other canal.
To make things more interesting, the other canel is at the end of the Roughcastle Tunnel.
The pool at the end reveals the lock leading to the other canal.
Much to my surprise, one can walk through the tunnel (on a walkway, of course)
