Bruce Berg and Tim Houck head for the crest of White's Hill. In about 10 minutes, the temperature would drop to 31F.
I try when possible to take more than one shot to see if there is a version that is just right
Looking west toward Black Mountain from just below the top of the Point Reyes/Petaluma road climb. Near the reservoir we rode through some serious fog.
Let me know if you think one version is better than the other.
Clockwise around the planter, Ken Emerson, Bruce Berg, Bryan Clarkson, Chris Browder, John Pottis (background) and Ken Shoemaker (extreme right edge).
Same group, but with more riders in the background. I think that is Tim Houck way in back behind Bryan, and that might be Geoff Hastings on the phone. Gabe Ehlert is sitting on the pavement by Chris Browder.
Zach and his customary sardines for ride lunches.
Wildflower on Mountain House road. Mountain House is simply a visually stunning road. It wasn't until the 4th time I rode it that I got to see it in the daylight, and wow indeed.
Which version is best?
I had a photo of me and my son on my handlebar bag all day.
The rig, fully outfitted. First time doing a brevet with the H-bar bag. It changes the handling a little, but the advantage of having *everything* handy while riding is just great.
From foreground, clockwise, Bruce Berg, Ken Shoemaker, Theresa Lynch, Carlos Duque, and Tim Houck. Way in back I can make out Gabe Ehlert sitting, and Bryan Clarkson stnding but I don't know who is in yellow with his back to the camera.
Bruce Berg. When the temps dropped below freezing in the morning, it was hard to believe we'd reach the point where riders were giving up legwarmers, vests, armwarmers, etc. In Hopland, it must have been close to 70F.
