Big Lake Park in Council Bluffs, Iowa. An easy ride from Omaha. Great place for a picnic.
I'm not sure one would want to swim among the lily pads. Maybe they aren't always there.
Dang, the close-up focus didn't work. There's a bumble bee on the flower.

Just hanging around.
Old Lincoln Highway north of Crescent, Iowa. Not safe for cycling.
You can ski Iowa.
This was an alternate way to Hitchcock Nature Area park, but I wasn't prepared for gravel.
The Loess Hills of Hitchcock Nature Area park off beyond the corn.
Ah, this is nice. Badger Avenue heading east out of Crescent, Iowa. Smooth, light traffic, and not a bad grade.
Badger Avenue.
Horses on Badger Avenue.
This is way better than Old Lincoln Highway. Scenic, gentle curves and hills.
OK. Here's a hill. I admit to walking a little on this. Maybe I'll bring gears next time.
This view was amazing. The photograph doesn't do it justice. There were lots of nice views like this along 205th Street.
The new viaduct on Avenue G in Council Bluffs has a great pedestrian/bike path. Now that's how to build a new bridge! Avenue G goes all the way to the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, but the path doesn't (yet)
Still in Council Bluffs, I couldn't resist a burrito before heading back to Omaha.
