Annual Chinese New Year 2009

Once again, HKSA members come together in the big event of the year - the Chinese New Year dinner! Even though the dinner was held five days after the official New Year, the superb food and exciting games contributed to a joyful atmosphere filled with conversation and laughter!

Harnwell Lunar New Year Celebration

During this festive season, HKSA shows off our Hong Kong food proudly with Turnip Cakes and Chinese Rice Cakes! Another major attraction was the Chinese Calligraphy booth where many people wrote traditional Chinese New Year Lucky Messages.

Penn Club Happy Hour co-hosted with HKSA

HKSA kicked off the New Year festivities by inviting its alumni and current students to "The Catch" at Soho - a Tapas bar that specializes in seafood. Situated at the edge of Soho, Central, The Catch offered a quiet ambiance that fitted well with its pub-like intimate space. As members started to drop in and glasses started to clink, Penn HKSA welcomed its alumni to friendly conversations with current students as well as plates of free tapas on the side. In the end, everyone had a great time and suggested more events of such nature to be hosted in the future.

King of Prussia Mall Shopping Trip

Welcoming members from HKSA, CSA, Club Sing and KSA; a shopping trip to the King of Prussia Mall started early in the morning with fresh muffins on the yellow bus. After getting to KOP, everyone dispersed at once to find their favorite shops. Being the third largest shopping mall in America, KOP offered a serious challenge to all veteran shoppers, especially given the many weekend discounts and seasonal sales. In the end, everyone was exhausted to a point where all motivation for shopping was simply lost. Although tired physically, we are sure that everyone had a great time finding just what they needed!
