Yellville Arkansas, 1985, my first year with Hunter Specialties, the newly formed HS Strut turkey call company, my second National Championship, also won National Championship the previous year in 1984 To my left, is ole Leroy , from Moscow Mills MO , Turk Celeb of that time and head Judge , to my right my good friend and turkey hunting brother, Preston Pitman from Mississippi, Preston took second.
This is from a 1978 or 1979 ? road trip with Preston Pitman, Terry Philips through the south to turkey calling contest. Holding 3 trophies, South West open Open, Little Rock Arkansas, South East Open, Montgomery Alabama , and World contest, Mobil Alabama.
1984 Levi Garret All American Champion, Crossville Tennessee. Brother Marty took second, fellow MO caller Walter Parrot, took third. I won $4000.00 Dollars as the Champion, a lot of money for turkey calling back in 1984. A few of the other big name callers at this event, Dick Kirby, Deny Gulvas, Paul Butski, Billy McCoy, Terry Rohm, Preston Pitman, Kelly Cooper .....

These trophies are from 1975 to 1982 , prior to my 2 national championship wins and Levi All American win. As you can see calling trophies were a lot smaller back then, the large wooden Owl (on right) is from NWTF National convention, Niagara Falls New York, 1980 Grand national owl hooting champion .. all were lost in a fire
