A pause to regroup.
...and take a breather.
Away from the canal the countryside begins to open up.
..with rocky outcrops becoming apparent
.. but down below it is still green and pastoral, and dotted with wooded areas
The dramatic first view of the ruins of Castle Dinas Bran atop its crag..
...once on top you get a perception of its commanding view over the surrounding countryside.
...It has stood here for 100s of years, controlling the lands surrounding it.
Now a protected monument - a relic of ancient Wales.
A spot of sun creates the depth in this photo,
A castle lookout's view of the valley..
This section looks for all the world like a dog looking out.
..it still looks lika a dog figure. to me
A break in the wall takes the eye into the distance
“Now if you look just over there...”
..With these views, maybe a moment for quiet reflection too.
The views are all around this ancient fortress - well worth the climb up.
Dawn takes time out with a nice backdrop behind her.
...and Dave and an ancient archway.
..that dog again - head left -Woof!
.. having a chat before making the descent to the valley floor.
A sculpted waymarker points the way.
Down at Llangollen Canal Wharfe - horse drawn narrowboats too, give trips on the canal.
The Llangollen railway station.
..by the river in Llangollen town.
The station by the river.
...a train arrives at the station.
