北寺塔是报恩寺塔的俗称, 是楼阁式塔, 砖木结构。曾经长期是苏州最高的建筑物。Beisi Pagoda or North Temple Pagoda is a Chinese pagoda located at Bao'en Temple. The base of the pagoda has an octagonal frame, and the tower rises nine stories in a total height of 76 m (243 ft). The pagoda was once eleven stories tall, yet was damaged and reduced to nine stories. It was once the tallest building in Suzhou.
This Buddhist pagoda was first built during the reign of Sun Quan (200 - 222 years, during the Three Kingdom period) in honor of his mother. The current pagoda structure was built between the years 1131 and 1162.

评弹 - 一种流行于江南的曲艺形式,评话和弹词的总称。评话,只有说,没有唱;弹词有说有唱。评话的演出内容大都是以历代兴亡的英雄史诗和侠义公案为题材。艺人用苏州话表演。一般多为双人档,一人弹奏三弦,另一艺人弹奏琵琶。"Pingtan" performance, a form of storytelling accompanied by music。 It is normally performed by two persons, one playing the samisen (3-stringed instrument) and the other playing the pipa (a four-stringed Chinese lute).

枫桥旁刻着唐朝诗人张继的“楓橋夜泊”。附近的寒山寺因此诗而出名。“A Night Mooring by Maple Bridge" - a well known poem by Zhangji,a poet in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). This poem describes the melancholy scene of a dejected traveller trapped at night at Fengqiao, hearing the bells of Hanshan Temple. The poem is still popularly read in China, Japan and Korea. It is part of the primary school curriculum in both China and Japan。

寒山寺,位於蘇州市城西閶門外5公里的楓橋鎮. )。寒山寺初名「妙利普明塔院」,唐朝貞觀年間,傳說當時的名僧寒山和拾得從天台山來此作住持,遂改名寒山寺。The Hanshan Temple (or Cold Mountain Temple) is a Buddhist temple and monastery in Suzhou. The temple was first built between the years 502-519. It was named after Han Shan, a Tang-dynasty monk who lived there. Through the years, the temple had undergone several rounds of destruction and restoration. The existing one is a late-Qing (late 19th century) architecture work.
狮子林是苏州四大名园之一. 元代至正二年(公元1342年),天如禅师在此筑寺,称为狮子林,为前寺后园。后易名前寺为普提正宗寺,后园称为狮子林。在2000年被列入世界文化遺產. Built 1342 and an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000, Shizilin (Lion Grove Garden) is one of the four well known gardens in Suzhou.

燕誉堂为鸳鸯厅,是院落中主体建筑,堂中陈设曲雅精美,高敞宏丽,是园内主要待客场所.它分为前后两部分,装饰也各不相同。一般来说,前面的部分被用于男主人招待男宾,后面的部分被用于女主人招待女宾。 Yanyutang is the main hall in Shizilin and it was used to receive guests. This hall is divided into two parts. The front part was used by master to receive male guests and the second part at the back used by his wife to receive female guests.
双层的峰指柏轩原为禅僧讲公案,斗机锋的场所。在元朝时,它的前方有一棵宋朝的柏树,但现已不存在了。
