Wangfujing, Beijing 北京の王府井
These photos of Wangfujing were taken during our 9-day holiday in Beijing in Nov/Dec 2006. Wangfujing Street (王府井大街), located in the Dongcheng District of Beijing, is one of the Chinese capital's most famous shopping streets. Prior to the late 1990s trolleybuses, buses, and other traffic ran through the street, making it rather congested. Modifications in 1999 and 2000 made much of Wangfujing Street car-free (aside from the tour trolley and occasional milatary vehicles doing bank transfers). It is an interesting street and a must to explore when visiting Beijing! The huge Foreign Language Bookstore is a great place to check out and some of the books are there really cheap.
