Tummy refueling stop at Manor Naka
Start of the trek from Waghote village
A small lake on the way
Walking through the fields
Refreshing walk through the greenery
Posing at the lake (its actually a reservoir built by a muddy dam on one side)...Kohoj in the background
Start from base
Ocassional breather....the trek was too vertical
For a jungle pose
Was quite dense with trees, thankfully the path was visible
Arjun making his way through
And so is Salil
That was the end of Salil's trek...didnt see him after this
Rehydration break
I thought that would be our destination...but it wasn't
Energetic Arjun, not even once did he look tired
The lake we were at an hour back
Mr. Energetic is all over the place
The other side of the mountain
The toughest and last section of the trek...fallen trees, slippery rocks- no visible path- make your own road
Finally at the table top- that's Lord Shiva temple in the background. The only saving sight at this haunted place.
After a 3 hours trek, we thought we made it...but that was the fort- 30 more minutes of pain for our legs
Smiling just for the click...was dead tired
Lord Hanuman temple
Wish I could capture it better, this was a heavenly sight.
Arjun making his way to the top
Water cisterns...built ages ago
A bit thrilling this section..all slippery path
Some respite for the aching back
The other group making their way down...spot the Lord Shiva temple in the distance
The walls of the fort...wondering if they were really needed, the trek itself was tiresome
Arjun at the entry point of the fort
A snapshot from the entry point
Wanted him to get more closer to the edge...am sure his smile too was just for the click
This was beautiful, unfortunately couldnt capture it well
Another water cistern... Arjunsaab wanted to get into it
The pinnacle I mistook for the fort from below
Mr. Dharve makes it to the highest point. Have a look at the round piece of rock at the top, its natural erosion...amazing!
The path leading to the other end of the fort....gave up, was too scary and also was short on time
Thumbs up time....wish the pic could show my legs trembling..was too close to the edge and the wind was very strong
A more close-up, it looked awesome- felt like you could just jump from here and land on the top of it
The pinnacle over my head
Another temple...(with so many temples here, I thought something was wrong at this place...hope you getting it)
Too much of me....for a change
Refreshment...wonly water
Enjoying cold tea atop the fort
We were there at the top..
Looks natural, but this was a rock-cut cistern
Filled up our empty water bottles wherever I found these
This was the scary part....flowing stream, and very very slippery surface. One chap almost lost his life here. Thankfully he got stuck in the rocks.
Me got stuck here...but didnt let the clicking opportunity go ;)
Without Mr. Patil (right), it would have been a nightmare getting down the fort
The plus point of this place....cell range everywhere
The gang waiting for the injured guy
And so am I..gives a chance to rest
And here he is, poor guy was bruised at the wrong places, couldnt even put on his pants
He was smiling till the time I told him dont look back :P look how close he is to the edge
Picture perfect
Strong breeze blowing across
The last pic of the trek. We were 9 kms from our base- later took a lift from a trailer to meet up with Vinod and Salil.
