On the way back from the dam, we visited Kallekulangara Bhagavathi Temple. The idol in this famous temple is a pair of hands. I have heard that it was during a visit to this temple that the late PM Mrs Indira Gandhi got the inspiration to adopt palm as the symbol of the Indian National Congress party.

On the way to Guruvayoor, we visited the Anathavalam (House of Elephants) and it houses about 65 elephants! They are taken good care of my a dedicated team of people. This is an initiative of the Kerala Government and they must be lauded for this effort!
