Trip to Jericho

On April 10, Prelude sponsored a trip to Jericho for children from refugee camps around Bethlehem. With them came trainees from the music program of Musician without Borders in Palestine.

Workshops Amman, Jordan, 9-10 March, 2009

Prelude Foundation (www.preludefund.org) sponsors therapeutic workshops for underprivileged children in Jordan. This time we visited a center run by KnK (Children without Borders -www.knk-network.org) where we gave 3 workshops to Iraqi and Palestinian refugee children, later we did a workshop for an intimate gathering of some 15 traumatized Iraqi refugee children, organized by Direct Aid Iraq (www.directaidiraq.org). We also visited again the Al-Hussein Society for the Rehabilitation of the Physically Challenged (www.alhusseinrehab.org.jo) where we did a workshop with almost 80 physically handicapped children, and finished the trip in the Fun Factory (www.funfactorykids.com) with a workshop for Palestinian children. In every trip, two or three trainees from the Palestine project of Musicians without Borders (www.musicianswithoutborders.nl) join us for an internship. A Day Out to the Playground

14 amazing trainees from Musicians without Borders (www.musicianswithoutborders.org) took almost 100 children from their camps to a playground in Beit Jalla to play and have fun. Thank you all (Dheisheh: Mohammad, Dia', Ahmad, Yousuf, Bassam, Anas and Hisham, Aida: Ramzi and Ahmad, al-Azzeh: Khaldoun, Naji, Osama, Bob and Merna) for the wonderful day and thank you Prelude Foundation (www.preludefund.org) for making this trip possible. Thank you Cecile and Lilith for making pictures and filming! On March 7, 2009, Prelude sponsored a day out to a playground in Bethlehem for one-hundred children from Al-Azzeh, Dheisheh and Aida refugee camps. The Palestinian refugee camps in the area of Bethlehem suffer from extreme crowdedness and poverty. During the last several months, Prelude has sponsored the shipment of violins, purchasing of art materials for art classes, and day trips, all for the benefit of the camps' children.

Trip to Safari and Sea

On Monday the 9th a colorful bus loaded with 60 girls from Silwan in East Jerusalem went on a trip to the safari and the sea. The trip was organized by Madaa Silwan Community Center (www.madaasilwan.org) Most of the girls are students in the UNRWA school where a classroom collapsed last week. Prelude Foundation (www.preludefund.org) sponsored the trip, which could not have happened without the incredible help of the volunteers from Silwan and outside.

Workshops Amman, Jordan, 16-17 December, 2008

This time we did 3 workshops: Two in the Al-Hussein Society for the Habilitation/Rehabilitation of the Physically Challenged, where one day we had a small class, and in the second the whole school wanted to join (!!!), so we met in the courtyard and did a workshop with 90 disabled children! The second place was in the Fun Factory, which is a tiny Disney Land in the middle of Amman, to where underprivileged children are brought to have some fun. We had a group of 20 Palestinian children from a nearby refugee camp. Workshops Amman, Jordan, November 30, 2008

Therapeutic workshops in Amman for Jordanian, Palestinian and Iraqi children who suffered from severe cases of meningitis. Sponsored by Prelude Foundation: http://www.preludefund.org Meningitis is a disease in which there is an inflammation of the membranes of the brain or spinal cord. This causes brain and motoric damage. The children that participated in the music workshop suffered from a severe case in which the disease was caused by a bacteria. Summer Games 2008 - Azariyeh

The Summer Games are the yearly free summer camps organized for hundreds of Palestinian children in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. It is run by Palestinian, Israeli and international volunteers and funded by BSST and Prelude Foundation.
