Gene Davis Line and Color
The work of Contemporary Artist, Gene Davis, was discussed. Linear design were created as the last of our color unit. Variety in lines and spaces, contrasts in color, repetition, rhythm, balance and the element of surprise were explored. Bodies were used as an exercise to better understand and observe how color can work. Students offered themselves as "colored lines" and their opinions based not on preference but what color and line can do. Note the energy and uniqueness to each design.
