Another early morning for us... this time a breakfast cruise on Lake Rotorua. Just in time for a beautiful sunrise
I like airplanes, I like sunrises, I like lakes... so I must like airplanes resting on a lake during sunrise right ;)
Rotorua is known for its geothermal geysers, you can see smoke rising from various parts of town (and it has the typical smell...)
I liked the red - yellow combo here.
After the morning cruise we went to Te Puia (http://www.nzmaori.co.nz/) A tourist place to find out more about Maori culture, geothermal geyser and see Kiwi birds.
Traditional Maori buldings
Raised food storage.
Bubbling mud pools
The geothermal geysers, you cn sit on these rocks to warm up your behind if you are cold...
When we first got there, the geyser wasn't quite going yet.
We were actually extremely lucky... according to our schedule we were suppose to visit Te Puia the day before but due to mechanical problems with the plane we had to reschedule to this morning. We were not only treated to a great show with the geysers but also see a double rainbow thanks to the morning sun.
The rainbows a little more visible.
I really like how the geyser is covering up the sun in this shot.
After Te Puia we drove over to Agrodome in Rotorua for their famous sheep show...
Sheep shearing...
It's like getting a hair cut... except it looks really uncomfortable.
All done...
Poor sheep... supposedly it can still stay warm relatively welll...
Showing how to milk a cow.
Audience participation
Sheep dog show.
You can herd sheeps then you can herd ducks...
Jumping on the sheeps...
Some species of sheep dogs can herd sheeps just with a stare. This particular one barked a lot :)
Yum.. lamb for lunch!
More sheep dog show outside
These sheeps can really run...
Hehe, looks like the sheeps can corner better ;)
I thought this was cute... they couldn't all fit across the bridge at once but insisted on trying to squeeze through....
Face off...
Farm tour...
Cows! We pretty much drove within arms reach of them.
More sheeps!
Awww.... I thought this was so cute.
"Ahhh help!!! I'm being attacked by sheeps!"
I can't seem to get enough of these cute little lambs :)

Hiding behind mother...
Kiwi orchards
Cute little piglets
Our drive back to Auckland. It has been raining a little bit but the clouds are just breaking up to present a beautiful sunset (love those "god rays")
Beautiful sky/clouds on the way back.
Almost feels like the gates to heaven...
Just playing with post a bit... wanted a cold apocalyptic feel
We went up the Sky Tower for dinner buffet
View from top of the tower...
