A haunted castle, and a very busy day
My life will probably never see another day that includes cave exploring, unexcavated Mayan ruins, a haunted castle, a rodeo, and a fandango. We thought about checking out the circus too, but that would have just been too much. The castle sits atop a hill near the quarries in San Cristóbal, and this is the story that I heard from a local: It was commissioned in the 70s by an eccentric European man who was obsessed with castles, but he died before it was finished. It has had several owners since then, but all have moved out. It is currently up for sale, but everybody knows that no one will buy it, for the simple reason that it is very seriously haunted. Someone else later told me that it is not ghosts who live there, but vampires (one of whom is the man who comissioned it). Naturally, the only thing to do was find out who to contact about buying it, play the part of wealthy foreign investors looking to open up a hotel, and get a private tour.
