SA: Day 3 - Johannesburg
One committee member (Kaiser) from the Saturday meeting offered to show us around Orlando and Soweto. We arranged to meet at a new by shopping centre for 11am. Kaiser and a friend arrived close to 2pm which gave us plenty of time to first watch and listen to a marimba band made up of some school kids between 11 - 13 years old. The tour took us first to Observatory - the highest point of the city, then down into Soweto (South West Township). The guys really showed us a lot, and although rather brief, the visit to the Hector Pieterson museum was really a highlight. A few hours later we were heading North East into the flatland of Mpumalanga in preparation for the next visit...
