Winter Vacation 2-11-09 through 2-28-09

I traveled to Shenzhen (with a quick trip to Hong Kong) and Thailand (Bangkok, Ko Phi Phi, and Ko Paghean(not sure on the spelling of the last island we were at)) with Dave, Patrick (aka Guang Guang), and Feifei (aka Val). It was an awesome two week vacation with the awesomest people ever!

After PC IST I travelled to Xian with Jonny, Neil (Jonny's friend from America), and Austin. We were then joined by a few 14's a few days later. A lot of these pictures were actually taken by Neil, because his camera battery died so i let him use my camera.

Chinese in Huaxi

On Sunday we went to Huaxi for our Group Chinese Lesson. While there we rode bikes, learned about jokes, and truth or dare in Chinese. We also told some jokes, and played truth or dare in Chinese to practice, seeing how it was for our Chinese lesson.

Huaxi 10-18-08

On Saturday our Post-Graduate students invited Jonny & I to join them for a day in Huaxi. Jonny and I really had no idea what was going to happen, but it was a fun filled day, which ended with a large meal, and Jonny & I going around to every table and toasting the students, thanking them for inviting us. There were about 8 tables, and we drank a whole glass of beer at each table, as per tradition and respect.

Camping Trip

Dulce was invited to this camping trip and told that she could bring two foreign friends. So she invited Jonny and I to go with her for a fun fill weekend, although we had no idea what was going on. We went with this organization to this place i believe was called Qing Yi but i could be wrong, we had pork hot pot, and Dog hot pot, and met some really cool Chinese people, who spoke very little English if any at all.

Mel Visits Guiyang

Each year to celebrate the Founding of the People's Republic of China, the provicial government throws a dinner and invites foreigners that are working in Guiyang to come to this dinner and help celbrate. We get Great FREE food!

XiShuangBanna

Jinghong, in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan was our second stop in Yunnan. It was a beautiful and warm place. We spent about four days here, and had the best weather ever!
