The magnificently ornate world-heritage Mahabodhi Mahavihara in Bodhgaya, Bihar, India is the most revered Buddhist pilgrimage shrine in the world commemorating where Prince Siddharta spent 49 days after attaining enlightenment after meditating beneath the Bodhi Tree thus becoming the Lord Buddha. Bustling day and night, throngs of reverent pilgrims and fascinated tourists from all over the world exuberantly absorb it's serene ambiance and hypnotic spiritual significance. This spectacular monument is the spiritual centerpiece of Bodhgaya, the primary stop along the "Buddhist Circuit" also including Sarnath, Lumbini, Kusinara, Rajagira, Nalanda, Vaishali, Savatthi and Sankisa. Hearing the chants and exploring the Mahabodhi Temple's paths, courtyards, shrines, gardens, parks, lotus pond, and votive stupas was an intensely inspiring and sublime experience.
