The 51st Field Hospital that joined the 3rd Field Hospital in Viet Nam and became known as the 3rd Field Hospital, was originally located at Ft. Lewis, Washington.

The 3rd Field Hospital, Saigon. These building were originally the American Community School in Saigon, created in 1954, providing American style schooling for the dependent children of Americans working for U.S. government organizations in Saigon.
The 3rd Field Hospital, Saigon. The school was permanently closed in February 1965 when all dependents of U.S. government personnel were ordered out of Vietnam by President Lyndon Johnson. The school buildings were then transformed into the 3rd Field Hospital.
