Etchells Victorian State titles. Metung.

30 Jan-1 Feb 09. Sailed together with John Bertrand (helm) and Tommy Slingsby. Flat water sailing on the Gippsland Lakes. Great fun. Learnt a lot from JB and Tom. we won narrowly from Rob Brown's team and Graeme Taylor's team.

Sailed in the Etchells Nats in Adelaide with John Bertrand of Melb and Ben Ainslie of the UK. Very special team. Very special week. Great conditions and great fleet. We won with a race to spare. On Tuesday Oct 7th, we were the guests of the Seven network for the christening of the new 18 footer, Gotta Love It Seven at Jones Bay Wharf in Sydney. Great people, Great weather and a wonderful looking machine!

Split, Croatia - Star Eastern Hemisphere C'ship

During early June 2008, iain and I competed in the EHC, or more widely known as the European Springs in Split, Croatia. Beautiful town, but the regatta was seriously hindered by a lack of breeze. Only four races over five days, with a lot of time twiddling the thumbs onshore. Great training for China, as this was our last event prior to the Games in August.

Lake Como, Italy and boatbuilding at Lillia

En route from Holland to Split, Croatia (for the Europeans), we called into Musso on the west shore of Lake Como for some repairs and refinement at the boat's builder - Lillia. Great place, but resin and gelcoat still smells, itches (and tastes) the same here as it does back home. Ahhh, the glamour life of olympic sailing....
