cob builders

Two missionary families have been invited to make their homes and mission station in a Yao village near Lichinga. A big part of thier ministry is to create ways to improve the quality of life of the poor villagers. So they have a number of experimental projects they showed us. 1. Cob house building - mud and straw can make a palace! 2. They give away a mating pair of rabbits if the person will pass on another mating pair. 3. A new design of stove that is more efficient. Etc.

Yao villages

These primitive villages are being given the gospel of Jesus by the Wilcox's. the Yao people in N Mozambique are nominally Muslim. To our knowledge there are no churches in hundreds or thousands of villages in this NW corner of Mozambique. We shared the gospel and some of them are slowly coming to faith in Jesus. The Wilcox's are teaching them from the beginning of the bible about all the concepts that are so familiar to us - a sovereign God over all, sinful mankind, the judgment for sin, the devil (which they understand easily), the sacrificial death of Jesus to take our judgment on himself, the freedom of the believer, heaven, etc!!

Wilcox mission base, Lichinga

This idillic setting in remote Africa is an outpost of Kingdom Life! Untouched villages that have never heard the name of Jesus; hungry young men who are learning the God of the Bible; an amazing family of faith and single minded devotion to Jesus; a simple lifestyle of candle light, well water, curtain doors, sweet potatoe and banana meals, and an abundance of joy; worship, worship, prayer, worship some more; muslims and Yao chiefs coming to Christ thru much spiritual warfare and signs from God; patiently teaching in the villages the Bible concepts of God and sin and eternity before showing that Christ is the only solution for our sin filled world; caring for orphans and widows - 1 widow and 8 orphans now, but a new building is being built for 18 more.

Oswaldo's family

This family - mom with 5 children, all handicapped except one - live in a small reed hut, very malnourished, often without food, difficult to help as the mother makes bad decisions and doesnt really care for the children adequately. Kutwanana wants to build them a house.

This is the orphan house that was built by Orphan Hope in conjunction with Kutwanana in Maputo, Moz. Pictures of the granny, her reed hut, one of the 2 or 3 orphans who will live here, and the 12x16 block house at a small cost of $1600 including labor.

Music for Life

Music for Life's kids camp for 300 orphans and vulnerable children was a huge success. They had a good meal daily, learned crafts and sports, learned to be a part of a team without regard of their poverty, they heard many bible stories and sang many gospel songs and learned dance.

Venoria's orphan care

Venoria is a care worker at Thembelathu, a home health care ministry in Schoemansdale. She took our team to live in her house for a week. She also helps 21 orphans that live with grannies and neighbors near her - she feeds them a meal each day (a slice of bread with jam) and plays games with them and teaches them about God. She is their only advocate.

Nkomazi village life

Music for Life is going into remote areas to find the most vulnerable orphans and bring them food, clothing, assistance. we went with them and loved the simple life of this people on the border of Swazi, Moz, and South Africa.
