Puno and Uros
The people of this part of Lake Titicaca used to live on boats. Some time ago (100 years? more?) the started making islands of the same reeds from which they'd previously made their boats. These islands last about 20 years, and then they have to build a new island. There are more than 300 in the area of the lake around Puno. The inhabitants speak a language called Amaru, but many also speak Quechua, and all speak Spanish.
