Coronation Park - a forgotten site on the oustkirts of Delhi — This was where King George held a large ceremony and declared the shift of India's capital from Calcutta to Delhi. He laid the foundation stone of New Delhi, but the area was subsequently found to flood during monsoon season and so the city was built further south in its present location. The tall statue of King George once sat under an archway behind India Gate. It was relocated to this no-man's land after Independence.
